Filming Schedule

This is the filming schedule made by Beatrice to organize sessions of filming in our group during this music video project.

Self-Reflection:

Before project:

How will a schedule help you?

A schedule will help my team and I in organizing and allocating our time efficiently so we will have enough time to finish recording and developing all of our scenes in the music video project. Other than that, it will remind us of what to bring (equipments and props column), what to be careful of and what we need to remember to do since the notes section will guide us. The media filming schedule can also help us keep track of what scenes we have recorded and what scenes we haven't recorded yet as there are dates to keep us on track with the time.

Is it realistic?

Although it may seem like a solid schedule, it isn't realistic to believe that we can follow exactly the schedule that is recorded as there are variables that are unpredictable like some people not being able to go on certain dates suddenly. Even so, I think that it is still a bit realistic since we decided to spread the workload pretty evenly throughout the different dates so we don't expect to finish recording a huge chunk of the recording in just a day.

What problems might you face?

I think one of the main problems would again be the unforeseen variables that may mess up the flow of the schedule since if one of the sessions in the schedule isn't completed, we'll have to move it to another day and push back the recordings of the others scenes by a day too. This will result in us having to compensate for the missed session in another time. So to avoid this, we will try our best to attend all the schedules we have set in the schedule to prevent any misunderstandings.

After project

Problems:

Like I had predicted previously, one of the main problems was the fact that some team members were unable to go on certain days abruptly. This would result in a lack of team members on some days which made it hard to get behind the scenes shots. As an example, there were some days where we were supposed to record parts I was in with Beatrice, but Rachelle was sick. Since I was acting and Beatrice was actively recording as a cameraman, there was nobody to take proper behind the scenes pictures, so we lacked in that aspect. There were also many times where we had to push back and constantly edit the dates since we were all unavailable on some days so the schedule was never really fixed. Another problem was that we hadn't solidified our lyric sheet and storyboard even during the creation of the schedule. This made it so we were unsure of the number and types of scenes we actually had to record. This resulted in us having eventually not following the filming schedule much.

Solutions:

Although it is shameful to admit, we actually didn't have a particular solution to all of these problems. Instead, we planned our filming dates by texting each other on WhatsApp as we realized that following a filming schedule would be impossible since some abrupt issues would halt our filming progress at some points during the filming progress, so we just decided to do whatever we could using this unorganized method of planning.

What to do next time:

I think that next time the only proper suggestion is to make sure that the actors that we have can actually make it to the schedules allotted. We can do this by making sure our actor would be free during most weekends, we made the mistake of not doing that which resulted in us having to urgently record near the deadline though it ultimately worked out. I do think that I will use this type of schedule for future projects though because it is really helpful especially if used properly and it would help us be more organized.
