Brief

This is the brief for the Component 3, music video project. This brief includes instructions as well as the criteria for this project.

Before-project reflection:

I think that this project will be super interesting! Before this project, my media class did something similar by making a mock documentary opening. That project definitely piqued my interest in potentially learning how to film. I think that I want to be more involved in the production process because it’ll help me learn to visualise scenes with a more creative mind. On top of that, I had just bought a new camera which will allow me to make higher quality recordings and through this project, I hope to gain the necessary technical skills on how to operate my camera to its full potential. I think that I really will have to learn a lot on how to operate a camera and I’ll have to learn many skills in a short period of time, but nonetheless I still want to use this opportunity to gain experience especially since I’ll have the necessary resources to do so.

After-project reflection:

I definitely think that this media project helped me hone my skills a lot when it came to photography and cinematography, as it forced me to get out of my comfort zone to test out different compositions and shots. I also had quite a bit of fun as an actor in the music video, as I had never done anything like this before. Although it was super tiring, and we ended up bumping into a bunch of obstacles with the groupwork, communication, etc., we managed to resolve it professionally which is why we were able to produce an output in the end! I managed to get a lot of use out of my new camera, and it helped spark my interest even more.
